Philoptochos
St. John's Philoptochos is a local chapter of the National Philoptochos Society. "Philoptochos" means "Friend of the poor," and its mission is to promote charitable, benevolent and philanthropic outreach to preserve the sanctity of life and family and to perpetuate and promote our Orthodox faith and traditions.
In addition to supporting the monthly philanthropic commitments set by the national organization, St. John's Philoptochos focuses on supporting local charities and humanitarian efforts. Full membership is open to all Orthodox women aged 18 and over, and associate membership is also open to men.
