All the ladies of St. John’s Parish are cordially invited to a baby shower in honor of Juliana Dancer on Saturday, December 7, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Khouri home. RSVP by Sunday, December 1, to Regina Christodoulou, Kh. Irene Khouri, Presv. Magda Andronache, Elleni Huerter, or Carrol Chipokas. Consider signing a copy of a favorite children’s book instead of a greeting card, to build a library for the baby.

For the next couple of weeks we will be collecting funds for disaster relief in the Philippines. You can contribute in the second trays on Sundays, or by check to St. John, memo: Philippines relief.

Angel Tree tags are available to pick up in the hall; please select a tag and sign up. Unwrapped gifts should be returned by Sunday, December 15, so that they can be sent to Tanager Place in time.

The prosfora: Nadina Geistkemper in memory of her aunt Evelina, and Eleonora Rieck.

We have a few spots available for hosting fellowship in December. If you have not hosted one this year, please utilize the sign-up sheet in the church hall. Please remember juice for fellowship should not be red or dark-colored, in case of spills. (Did you see that the hall carpet was cleaned?)

Old flowers at the cemetery need to be removed, and other personal clean-up accomplished.

St. John will collect for IOCC health kits, to be shared worldwide for those in need during these troubling times. Please use the sign-up sheet in the hall and bring in your donated items by Sunday, December 1. During the St. Nicholas youth lock-in (December 6), the youth will assemble the kits.

The bookstore will be open during coffee hour through December 1. Please place your orders now for beautiful Christmas gifts from Ancient Faith Publishing.

A few of our parishioners will be making Christmas pastries as a fund-raiser for our church. The pastries available are: galaktoboureko, baklava, kourambiedes, koulourakia, and karidopita. (Same prices as at the dinner.) Orders are accepted through December 8 and will be ready for pick-up or delivery on Saturday, December 14. Please see Elleni, Carrol, Edie, Goldie, Regina, or Presvytera Magda if you or someone you know would like to order.

Christmas play rehearsals are Sundays at 12:15 pm, lasting about 20 minutes. The first Saturday play rehearsals will be held on December 7, 10:00 – 11:30 am. The last rehearsal (full dress rehearsal) will be on December 14, 10:00 am – 12:00 noon. We ask that all cast members try their best to attend as many rehearsals as possible. Please notify Maria Katsiris if you are unable to attend rehearsal.

Please submit newsletter items and photographs before December 11!

You may now sign up in the hall to contribute to the flower decorations of the church for Christmas.

Important deadline: Sunday, December 8, the parish Christmas card form is due, we will hold Parish Council elections, and it is Stewardship Sunday!

Next week’s coffee hour will celebrate Lou Karoules’ 90th birthday! Many years!
