The Fall Dinner is just four weeks away, and preparations are in full swing. This is a very important fundraiser for our parish, and as always the success of the fundraiser rests largely on our shoulders. Everyone’s help is needed to make this a success. Please utilize the sign-up sheet in the hall to let us know when you can help at the event. We encourage everyone to sell as many tickets as possible. If you have not received any tickets or you need more please contact Michael Christodoulou.

Donations are accepted to help with the cost of the ingredients for Fall Dinner desserts. Please give donations to Chris Paxton, indicating that it is for Fall Dinner pastries.

Kourabiedes (powdered sugar cookies) will be made at Regina’s house on Monday, September 16, at 5:30 p.m. Anyone interested in learning how to make kourabiedes or wants to help is invited to attend. For more information regarding pastries for the dinner, please see Regina Christodoulou.

The Sunday school staff thank those who pledged to the Sunday school program on the registration form. Please indicate funds are for the Sunday school.

Sunday School’s Awards Programs encourage students to gain knowledge and life practice in their faith by developing Orthodox Christian habits. 1) Attendance (end of year): attending regularly builds knowledge, friendships, and memories. 2) Treasures in Heaven Journal (monthly): tracking daily prayers, church attendance, and reading daily epistles and gospels; meet with Fr. Peter to set goals. 3) Achievement (end of year): achieving goals set by grade level; meet with Fr. Peter. Requirements include memorizing prayers, reciting facts, and reading literature about our faith. 4) Created to Serve log (end of year): tracking time serving others at home, at church, and in the community. Please help the Sunday school by sponsoring these new awards. See Maria for more information.

Parents of awards participants must return intent forms and order forms to Maria today to be included in the program.

Sunday school: Grades 6 and above will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays; younger students will meet following Holy Communion. Please return intent forms and order forms to Maria Katsiris.

Everyone is welcome to learn how to chant on Saturday evenings before Great Vespers. Starting in September, arm yourself with the hymns of the Church!

Today’s second tray will be passed to support the Sunday school for books and supplies this year.

Announcements for the weekly bulletin are due to Fr. Peter by Friday morning.

The prosfora this week were provided by Tula Margellos and Angie Panagos.

We are in need of prosfora for the upcoming weeks. Both small prosfora for weekday services and large ones for Sunday are needed. Thank you for your offering of love, time, and talent to God and our church.
