Prosphora this week were prepared by Goldie Helgens and Eleonora Rieck. We need prosfora for future services. If you are able to offer this blessing, please contact Fr. Peter.

Please check the sign-up sheet in the hall for opportunities to sponsor the Sunday fellowship in 2015. There are several Sundays in need of sponsorship, including next Sunday, Sept. 13.

We will be collecting supplies for IOCC School Kits on September 20, hoping to collect enough materials for 60 kits to provide assistance for children around the world who otherwise will not have what they need for school! Money towards postage and large boxes for shipping would also be appreciated. Please sign up in the hall today!

We have three items for sale to help our building projects. Please let me know if you are interested in either: banana bread (regular & various flavors $5/loaf, gluten-free available on request for $6), charcoal for incense at $2/sleeve of 10, and beautiful handmade prayer ropes.

Our fall fundraiser is coming up on October 11 (not on the 4th). This is an important fundraiser for our community and we need everyone's help to make it a success. A sign-up sheet is posted in the church hall with for helping at the event. There are lots of positions available and with everyone helping things will run very well. Tickets for the event will be distributed soon.

As always we are looking for donations to cover the costs of the pastry ingredients. If you are interested in making a monetary donation, please write your checks out to St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church and put “Pastry donation” in the memo part of the check. You may send in the donation or give it to Chris Paxton, our treasurer. These donations help to offset the cost of the ingredients to make these wonderful desserts. If you would prefer to make the pastries, please see the signup sheet in the church hall. If you have any questions, please see Regina Christodoulou.
