At the Spring Parish Assembly we decided to hire the Archdiocese Parish Development office for a feasibility study for a capital improvement project. A letter went out to all parishioners on our mailing list, outlining the process and including a Statement of Need document that the Long Range Committee put together. The study will be conducted by Jerry Minetos from the Parish Development Office. He will meet privately with as many parishioners as possible during two four-day visits to Cedar Rapids in June. A sign-up sheet for his first visit during the week of June 9 has been posted in the hall for each family to schedule an appointment. The success of this process rests with each of us, so please read the material that was sent to you and schedule your appointment with Jerry.

All Sunday school students who missed the awards ceremony and did not receive their certificates, please see Fr. Peter.

The Sunday School Outing will be on Sunday, June 15, from noon to 4:00 p.m. at Tucker Park in Hiawatha. Sunday school families and staff (including substitutes) are welcome. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided; please bring a picnic dish to share. Splash pad is open. RSVP by June 13 to

Summer Hymnology is still in need of a teacher. Please see Father Peter if you can help out during the summer (June and July)

Many thanks to all who helped with our Spring Dinner. We sold 635 meals. Please remember to turn in all money for ticket sales, as well as unsold tickets, as soon as possible.

The prosfora this week were provided by Eleonora Rieck and Angie Panagos.

Please continue to give Fr. Peter the names of your loved ones so that we can pray for their health and salvation at our weekly Paraklesis. Please specify whether you would like all or some of these names to be published in our bulletin so that our parishioners may add them to their daily prayers.

If you are interested in a summer book club reading through Fr. Stephen Freeman's Everywhere Present, ( please let Fr. Peter know this week, so we can begin before the end of the month.

The fellowships for all Sundays in June and July are covered, but there are still many opportunities, especially during fasting seasons, to show our love for our parishioners by sponsoring. If all stewards/families signed up for one Sunday, each turn would come less than once a year.

For 2014, we have $93,664 pledged so far, of the $100,500 budgeted/$118,715 needed for the 2014 budget. Please fill out a pledge form if you have not done so yet! Forms should be in the narthex.

All ladies of the parish are welcome to attend the miniature golf outing! Tuesday, June 10, at 6:00 p.m. at Airport National Golf Course. RSVP to Kay Escobedo (319-350-9826).

Monday, June 16, the senior group will tour the African American Museum in Cedar Rapids; the proposed time to meet at the museum is 10:30 and then lunch in the NewBo area following the tour. Price is $4, and the museum opens at 10:00.

Our parish is once again offering $500 for assistance with summer camp costs, with a limit of $250 per child. July 13 is the deadline for applying for the scholarship. As in the past, the scholarship will function as a reimbursement to the family.

We have an opportunity to raise funds for our church by working at a concession stand at events at the US Cellular Center. If you are interested in participating, please sign up in the hall. Please let Michael or Fr. Peter know if you would like to serve as one of the leaders of this project. Our deadline to commit as a group is June 15.

Your help is needed to clean candles so we can save by trading them in. If you are interested in helping, please let Fr. Peter know.
