Our fundraiser for the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) continues. Our goal is $300.

For 2014, we have $86,596 pledged so far, of the $100,500 budgeted/$118,715 needed for 2014. Please fill out a pledge form if you have not done so yet! Forms should be in the narthex.

The Spring Parish Assembly will be on Sunday, April 6, after fellowship. Eligible Voters must have returned a Pledge Form for 2014 and paid 25% of 2014 total and all prior year pledge balances 30 days before the Assembly. If for any reason you cannot fulfill prior year pledges, please see Fr. Peter ASAP.

Mark your calendars: the Spring Grecian Dinner is coming up on Sunday, May 4. This is an important fundraiser for our parish, and we need everyone’s help to sell tickets and volunteer for a successful event. Look for your tickets to arrive in the mail around the end of March, and sign up to help at the event.

The sign-up for fellowship is posted in the hall. Please remember juice for fellowship should not be red or dark-colored, in case of spills.

We have an opportunity to raise funds for our church by working at a concession stand at events at the US Cellular Center. If you are interested in participating , please let Michael Christodoulou know.

If you want to make a donation to offset ingredient costs for Spring Dinner pastries, make a check to St. John’s with “Pastry donation” in the memo, sending it in or giving it to Chris Paxton, treasurer. If you want to make pastries, please choose from the items below and contact Regina (319-804-9665). Bring pastries (except galaktoboureko) to the church on Saturday, May 3, starting at 4:30 pm. Galaktoboureko is to be brought to the dinner no later than 10:00 am, May 4. We need: 7 pans galaktoboureko, 300 cookies koulourakia, 7 pans lemon cake, 4 pans karidopita (walnut cake), and any and all finikia. A sign-up sheet will be in the hall. Baklava- and kourambiedes-making will be announced in the weekly bulletins, and all are invited. If you want to oversee the donation collection, contact Regina or Michael.
