·    FALL GREEK DINNER  - There is no Fellowship due to the Greek Dinner at the Scottish Rite. Please lend a helping hand even if you did not sign-up ahead of time. Every bit of help matters.
·    OUTREACH & EVANGELISM DISPLAY – The Outreach and Evangelism committee (who organized all our church’s old/donated icons stored in boxes) will again have a display at the dinner. Please encourage people to visit the display where they will also be able to also buy icons.
·    SUNDAY SCHOOL – Reminder to all the parents that Level 3 and Level 4 classes (school grades 7-12) take place right before the Divine Liturgy starting at 9:15am. There will be no Sunday School next Sunday, October 11 due to the Greek Dinner and change in service times.
·    GREEK SCHOOL – Our new Beginners’ Class for Children and our first Beginners’ Class for Adults have both started this past Wed, Oct 7th at 4:30pm and 5:30pm respectively. Both of these classes are only about 50 minutes long and scheduled back-to-back, so please be PROMPT and arrive about 10 minutes prior to the scheduled class start time.
·    PHILOPTOCHOS – Meeting on Tuesday, October 13 at 6:30pm.
·    PARISH COUNCIL – Meeting on Wednesday, October 14 at 6:30pm, not 6:00pm as before due to the new Adult Greek Class.
·    SENIOR CITIZENS JOINT EVENT WITH SISTER CHURCHES IN QUAD CITIES – TUE, OCT. 20 – This event is organized by our Seniors Group but it is OPEN TO ALL PARISHIONERS interested. The event will be the Celebration Belle Classic Oldies River Cruise from 11am-3pm. The Cruise boards at 10:30am so we will leave our church at 8:30am. Please sign up on the bulletin board if interested, talk to Edie for more details or visit the website www.celebrationbelle.com. Parishioners from East Moline and Rock Island will meet us at the event. This is a great opportunity to enjoy some fellowship with fellow parishioners from other orthodox churches.
·    THE MESSENGER (NOV-DEC NEWSLTTER) – The deadline for the upcoming issue of The Messenger is Thu, Oct. 15. Reminder to all ministry leaders to think about your ministry group’s events for November and December (speak with Fr. Ciprian if necessary) and submit your announcements ON of BEFORE the deadline (OCT 15). Parishioner announcements should be submitted by the same deadline. ALL NEWSLETTER SUBMISSIONS (including picture attachments) should be emailed to stj.news@gmail.com - of course, you can also submit your announcements to Fr. Ciprian on paper, if needed.
·    Please note Fr. Ciprian no longer has a home land line telephone number. His cell phone number remains available to all 24/7. You can see it in the header of all Sunday bulletins.
·    Laryssa Klein will be going on a missionary trip to Guatemala where she and her team will be serving at an orphanage. We are collecting children’s toys that she can take to the needy children.
·    The Ukrainian Dance Company will perform at COE College on Friday, October 16 at 8:00pm. Tickets are $15 for adults ($10 for seniors/students)
·    Our HOPE Group will meet at church at 10:45am and we drive to the Fire Station at COE College.
