·    TODAY – There is more Feta Cheese for sale. Please speak with Dorothea during fellowship.
·    APOSTLES’ FAST – May 31 to June 29 – Please observe this fast as best as you can. Fish is allowed on most days. More details can be seen on our wall calendar and Archdiocese website.
·    PHILOPTOCHOS MEETING & MOVIE IN CHURCH HALL – The last meeting before Summer Break will be this Tuesday, June 8 at 6:30pm and it will be followed by popcorn, snacks, drinks and a fun movie. All the ladies are invited to come and enjoy this fun evening.

We will meet EVERY WEDNESDAY (June 9, 2010 to July 28, 2010) from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. It’s still not too late to join. Please speak with Maria Katsiris or one of the Greek School Staff. THIS 2nd Wednesday of the month the class will end at 6:30pm instead of 7:00pm due to the Parish Council Meeting.
·    PARISH COUNCIL MEETING – Wednesday, June 9 at 6:30pm.
·    GREAT VESPERS & ALTAR BOY TRAINING – Every Saturday at 5:30pm.
·    EASTER FLOWER DONATIONS – The sign-up sheet for the Easter Flower donations is posted on the bulletin board AS A REMINDER TO ALL WHO HAVEN’T SUBMITTED PAYMENT YET. Please check and see if your name is highlighted; if you need to, you can speak to Michael.
·    SUMMER SERVICE HOURS – A popular request/desire from among our parishioners is that we do our Sunday morning services one hour earlier (ORTHOS AT 8:00AM & DIVINE LITURGY AT 9:00AM). This would enable us to more easily keep the church cooler during the service (as our Summer days get hotter sooner), as well as allow everyone to enjoy more of the summer Sundays with family and friends. PLEASE NOTE: As mentioned before, this change will be implemented starting next Sunday, June 13 and (if it works out well) carry it through the end of August. Let’s give it a fair shot :), as the potential benefits are well-founded. This attempted change affects everyone, so feedback to Fr. Ciprian about this is welcome and encouraged; don’t be shy :)
·    FELLOWSHIP – Nobody is signed up to sponsor Fellowship (Sun, June 13, 20). If you haven’t yet chosen a Sunday for this year, please consider taking care of next Sunday and tell Fr. Ciprian.
·    THE MESSENGER – It is time to start submitting announcements/events for the July-August issue of the Newsletter. Regina Christodoulou is now being transitioned into taking full charge of the Newsletter Publication. We welcome her into this ministry and thank her in advance for her devoted time. If you are a ministry leader, please don’t wait until next Sunday to speak with Fr. Ciprian about upcoming events for the months of July and August, do it this week. REMEMBER THE DEADLINE IS JULY 15 AND REGINA AND FR. CIPRIAN NEED THIS INFORMATION. As of now, ALL NEWSLETTER SUBMISSIONS need to be sent to stj.new@gmail.com
·    ALEX TURNER’S GRADUATION PARTY – Mitch and Aleka Turner invite the entire parish family to join in the celebration of their son’s High School Graduation this Saturday, June 12th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at their home located at 2800 Adirondack Dr NE, Cedar Rapids, IA. 52402
·    UPCOMING EVENTS – Seniors’ Event (Mon, June 21), JOY Event (Sat, June 26) – Details including maps and directions for these and other events can be found on our church website.
