The prosforo this week was provided by Tula Margellos and Eleonora Rieck.

Please contact Fr. Peter if you would like to be a part of a new group helping serve meals at Green Square Meals approximately once a month.

As a security precaution, the side door will be locked except during Sunday services. During any service the doorbell will be turned off. Please come in the front door or ask for assistance during regular weekly services.

Those interested in making visits to nursing homes should contact Elleni Huerter.

The food bank continues to have much need for donations. Each time Carrol takes food there they weigh the church's donation, and our gifts are much appreciated. The recent drop-off weighed in at 98 pounds—our largest donation yet! The food pantry donation box is in the narthex area.

FALL DINNER: It’s not too early to start planning for the next event, coming up on Sunday, October 13. The sign-up sheet for helping at the event is posted in the church hall. As always, we need everyone’s help, so plan on attending and pick a shift or two that you can donate to this fundraiser.

The second registration deadline ($250/family) is Friday, August 16, for the Labor Day Weekend family retreat with Dr. Philip Mamalakis in Green Lake, WI. Go to www.gocfamilysynaxis.org to register.

The Founders' Day Picnic will be on Sunday, August 25, at the Morgan Creek Park following the Divine Liturgy and memorial service for the founders of St. John's. This is a potluck picnic with the church providing the mail dish. To help us better prepare we ask parishioners who are planning to attend to sign up. The sign-up sheet is located in the church hall.

If you are interested in reading the epistle for Liturgies, please see Fr. Peter.

Sunday school registration will be held today, Sunday, August 11, and Sunday, August 18. Grades 6-8 (middle school) and high school will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays. Please consider this time when registering. Students must be at least 3 years old at the time of registration.

There will be a Sunday school teacher meeting on Saturday, August 24, at 2:00 p.m. at the church.
