·       The hymnology class will meet Sundays in the hall, June 16 – July 29. Parents may register for the summer program on the sign-up sheet in the hall or by emailing stj.sundayschool@gmail.com. If not participating in the class, please do not enter the hall during class.

·       The prosforo this week was provided by Tula Margellos and Mary Siamis. We need prosfora for the Divine Liturgies in July. Please contact Fr. Peter if you would like to make this offering for our worship. Please note that the loaves for weekday services do not need to be as large as those for Sundays, so if you are able, please bring some smaller loaves as well.

·       Please contact Fr. Peter if you would like to be a part of a new group helping serve meals at Green Square Meals approximately once a month.

·       FALL DINNER: It’s not too early to start planning for the next event, coming up on October 13. The sign-up sheet for helping at the event is posted in the church hall. As always, we need everyone’s help, so plan on attending and pick a shift or two that you can donate to this fundraiser.

·       As a security precaution, the side door will be locked except during Sunday services. During any service the doorbell will be turned off. Please come in the front door or ask for assistance during regular weekly services.

·       The food bank continues to have much need for donations. Each time Carrol takes food there they weigh the church's donation, and our gifts are much appreciated. The food pantry donation box is in the narthex area.

·       Those interested in making visits to nursing homes should contact Elleni Huerter.

·       To benefit attendees of the Catherine McAuley Center, our Service Outreach Committee will host a bake sale in the hall 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. Please consider how you may participate, whether by baking, donating, and/or buying. Fresh or frozen items should be brought to church on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. or on Friday to Carrol’s. Contact any committee member for details: Elleni, Regina, Edie, Goldie, or Carrol.

·       The Service Outreach Committee will collect donations for school kits to be distributed by International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC). A list of needed items will be posted in the hall starting Sunday, July 7, and the items will be collected through July 21. After Divine Liturgy on July 27, we will package and send the kits. Contact any committee member for details: Elleni, Regina, Edie, Goldie, or Carrol.

·       All Sunday school families and teachers are invited to the annual Sunday school outing.  The outing will be at the Blue Pavilion at Tucker Park in Hiawatha (101 B Avenue, Hiawatha) from 12:00 noon – 4:30 p.m., Sunday, July 14. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and lemonade will be served. Please bring a side dish to share. Playground and splash pad nearby.  Let us know you are coming and what you are bringing on the sign-up sheet in the hall.

·       Sign-up sheets both for Vacation Church School students and for volunteers to help with snacks, reading, teaching, and clean-up are available in the hall. VCS will be held 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Monday, August 5, through Friday, August 9.

·       Please remember to remove anything which would make a mark (such as lipstick) before venerating the holy icons and especially before receiving Holy Communion.
